OUR HOUSE PARENTS

Our House Parents are mentors, counsellors, and friends. They provide the emotional guidance and practical support each student needs to thrive.

A SECOND HOME

We believe that a strong support system and close role models are vital to the academic and personal growth of our students. Much more than caregivers, the House Parents are mentors, counsellors and friends, available round the clock for any need, be it emotional, academic or practical.

Our House Parents are fully dedicated to our boarding students… not teaching at the same time. We have nearly thirty House Parents across the Boarding Houses who mentor each and every student, helping them to flourish. Perhaps their influence is best described by two of our boarders:

Girls and boys are located in separate houses.

Boarders are always proud of their houses, whichever one they belong to. The standard of each house is the same, but each one allows for different tastes and focus.

Each house is equipped with shared bedrooms, to encourage communication between students. Rooms are allocated based on the profile of each student, their age and their interests.

Most houses have en-suite toilet and shower facilities.

Each house also has a pleasant common room for students to relax in, whilst also providing work areas for study halls. There is an allocated quiet time for homework after school in every Boarding House.

All houses have fully equipped kitchens, even though our cafeterias cater to our students’ meals outside of the Boarding House.

Each house has WiFi internet access throughout.  This is turned off during the night to ensure that students get the sleep that they need.

A very important part of the Boarding House is the garden. Each student has access to a beautiful outside space, to relax in and to take advantage of the beautiful and mild Geneva weather.

We encourage our students to experience the simple pleasures of growing vegetables and fruits. Even in the 21st century with a technology-rich curriculum, we ensure our students are in tune with some of life's simple pleasures, such as gardening.

Collège du Léman is so much more than a school. For our boarders, it’s a home from home, a second family, and a place where they receive 24/7 care, support, and inspiration.
