Making every student feel welcome at Collège Champittet is very important to us, which is why we hold special events to help integrate new joiners within our community. On August 16th, our Welcome Day gave our new day and boarding school students and their families a dedicated occasion to discover more about life at Champittet.
The morning started with a presentation of the Boarding House by Ms Tiziana Patella, the Director of Boarding, followed by a welcome speech for all our new joiners given by Mr Phillippe de Korodi, our Head of School.
In the College gardens, one of our students presented the trips and humanitarian projects carried out by the Collège Champittet Foundation. Afterwards members of our Parent Association (APEC) presented their organisation and the activities they organise. Our Deans then invited our parents to take a tour of our campus and meet their children’s future teachers. Meanwhile, our young learners from preschool to Grade 2 had a great time with hands-on outdoor learning in our Forest School!
With stands set up for multiple services at Champittet – including our Collège Champittet Foundation, APEC, extracurricular activities, pastoral care, uniforms, transportation and private music lessons – our Welcome Day enabled new families to ask questions and learn more about our school in an intimate setting. We capped off the day with a lovely buffet lunch, giving us all a chance to get to know each other better.
From start to finish, our Welcome Day was a wonderful opportunity for our new students and families to socialise and begin the new school year among friendly faces. A big thank you to all our families for joining us – and welcome to the Champittet community!
