Champittet community celebrates cultural diversity with our school’s first International Day

International Day - International Day

At Collège Champittet, we’re proud to have more than 50 nationalities represented at our international school. On Friday, August 22nd, our community celebrated our multicultural identity with our first International Day, organised by APEC, our Parent Association.

Celebrating cultural diversity at our International Day parade and village

Traditional clothing, culinary specialities and music from across the globe were proudly on display at our school campus. Students, staff and parents joined in the festivities by wearing clothing representing their countries, while our primary students had a blast dancing to world rhythms as part of our school parade.

In the afternoon, our entire community headed to the football pitch, which our organisers had transformed into an international village. Many of our secondary and boarding students took charge of around 20 stands, where they shared their cultural traditions through interactive games and samples of local cuisine. Our younger students took delight in “travelling” from country to country while answering quizzes to receive rewards and a stamp in their International Day “passport”.

APEC: Strengthening the Champittet community with our Parent Association

Held after our traditional back-to-school barbecue, our first International Day was the perfect way to kick off the school year and welcome new families to our community. This initiative is just one of many organised by APEC throughout the year. Our Parent Association is a vibrant part of our school community, building bridges between our students, families and school leadership.

APEC regularly leads a wide range of activities, including charity fundraisers, health and safety awareness campaigns, special holiday celebrations and Career Days for our students. We deeply appreciate the enthusiasm of our parent volunteers and their commitment to building our community and school spirit!
