The Glowing Muons from St Andrews Bangkok have won the 2024 Outreach Award from CERN’s Beamline for Schools competition. Their commitment to making physics accessible through local science outreach has earned them a special SSVI telescope, signed by Nobel Laureates. This award celebrates their passion for inclusive and engaging science education.

On 12 March 2025, 29 students from St Andrews Bangkok proudly took part in Thailand’s first-ever multi-school Languages Olympiad, joining peers from 11 international schools for a day of language immersion, cultural exchange, and friendly competition. Our students showed great enthusiasm and teamwork, with several earning medals in French and Spanish. The event highlighted the power of language to connect people and celebrated the importance of multilingualism in today’s world.

We proudly celebrate the talent of the STA Music Academy students, who delivered a stunning Music Composition in Film performance on 11 March 2025. Featuring both Junior and Senior Orchestras, the event showcased original arrangements of iconic Hollywood and Disney soundtracks, brought to life through the creativity of our young composers and performers.

From 13–15 March 2025, our U13 Flames basketball teams proudly represented St Andrews Bangkok at the FOBISIA 2025 Games in Seoul. The boys' team were crowned champions, while the girls’ team secured 3rd place—an incredible achievement showcasing their skill, teamwork, and resilience. Alongside the competition, students enjoyed cultural experiences and created lasting memories, highlighting the strength of our sports programme and the unique opportunities it provides.

We’re proud to share that Arhamm (Year 11) has been selected for the prestigious MIT Student Trip through the MIT–Nord Anglia Education collaboration. Chosen from over 500 applicants worldwide, Arhamm will explore cutting-edge research, collaborate with global peers, and engage with MIT experts. Congratulations, Arhamm, on this incredible achievement!

The Maths Faculty celebrated Pi Day last Thursday, 13th March 2025, with engaging and educational activities. The day immersed students in mathematics through challenges, puzzles, and hands-on exploration.

Well done to all Key Stage 2 students from Years 3–6 for taking part in the TTRS Rest of the World Rocks competition! Competing against over 435 schools globally, St Andrews Bangkok proudly finished 3rd overall based on total score. It was a fantastic display of teamwork, focus, and maths skills—congratulations to everyone involved!

Our STA Marlins bring home top team placements and individual medals across age groups. Their dedication and team spirit truly shone—well done to all our swimmers!

Educators from St Andrews International School Bangkok joined over 200 international teachers and leaders from Nord Anglia Education schools at the NAE South-East Asia, Middle East, and India Regional Conference 2025, held at the Nord Anglia International School Abu Dhabi. The event brought together outstanding minds in education to explore leadership, resilience, innovation, and inclusion—key elements shaping the future of teaching and learning.

The integration of Service-Learning into the Key Stage 3 Design and Technology curriculum aimed to deepen students' understanding of real-world challenges through project-based learning. By engaging with the needs of a Burmese migrant/refugee community in Thailand, students developed empathy, problem-solving skills, and a sense of social responsibility. Their term project focused on recognizing key challenges, proposing design solutions and fund raising, which was further expanded through an extracurricular activity where IB Diploma students refined these ideas for a migrant children's school. The initiative culminated in a trip to Mae Sot, where 17 students across different age groups collaborated with NGOs and architects on-site to engage in building parts of the school. This experience fostered peer mentorship, hands-on learning, and personal reflection on the impact of design and community engagement.

On Friday, 21 February 2025, St Andrews International School Bangkok marked the occasion with a special event organised by the Language Department. Language teachers, students from Years 9 to 11, and guests from cultural and language institutions across Thailand and Southeast Asia came together to celebrate the rich diversity within the school community. The event encouraged reflection on how language shapes identity and strengthens global understanding.

St Andrews Bangkok wrapped up its robotics season with the final VEX V5RC High Stakes Thailand Cup. The event featured 34 teams from across the Asia-Pacific region and showcased STA’s resourceful teams earning top placements and multiple awards.

At St Andrews Bangkok, we’re proud to offer the International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IBCP)—a pathway that blends academic excellence with real-world learning. Designed for students with a passion for a particular career field, the IBCP allows them to gain practical skills, IB-level academics, and global perspectives to prepare for university and beyond. With access to career-related studies, IB Diploma courses, and personal development opportunities, our students build the confidence and experience needed to take their next steps. Whether pursuing higher education or entering the professional world, the IBCP ensures they are future-ready.

St Andrews Bangkok proudly launched Art for Juveniles, an initiative using art therapy and mentorship to support young individuals in rehabilitation. Led by the High School Art and Counselling teams, the programme provided creative learning experiences for youth involved in minor legal cases at the Central Juvenile and Family Court. Through hands-on artistic activities, participants developed self-expression, problem-solving skills, and emotional awareness in a supportive environment. This initiative reflects our school's commitment to holistic education and social responsibility, demonstrating the transformative power of creativity and mentorship.

Our Primary students excelled in the FOBISIA Short Story Writing Competition, showcasing creativity and storytelling around the theme of Intercultural Awareness. Congratulations to our top writers and six finalists who will represent our school in the next stage!

Eloise reflects on her experiences representing St Andrews International School at the annual Remembrance Day service hosted by the British Club in Bangkok. She expresses her deep gratitude for honouring the sacrifices of fallen soldiers and the pride she feels in continuing a family tradition while representing her school and community. Students at St Andrews International School Bangkok have begun an exciting artificial intelligence project: integrating Nord Anglia’s “Misty the Robot” with conversational AI model, ChatGPT. Under the guidance of our Head of Robotics, Mr Rob Parker, they recently presented their results to Regional Managing Director, Mr Shaun Williams, as well as the Board of Directors at St Andrews, with the proposition of growing this project as a collaborative research venture across Nord Anglia schools.

St Andrews Bangkok marked the 50th anniversary of the iconic Rubik’s Cube with a vibrant event hosted by the Embassy of Hungary and the World Cube Association of Thailand. The celebration honoured the legacy of this brilliant Hungarian invention, featuring inspiring speeches, speed-cubing demonstrations, and hands-on workshops.

The STA Dance Festival 2024 brought together nearly 100 students for an exhilarating day of workshops and masterclasses led by professional dancers. Exploring diverse styles from hip-hop to Afro-dance, students showcased their creativity and skills in a vibrant finale performance. Highlights included an unforgettable show by Urban Dance Squad and a special hip-hop masterclass for High School dancers.

Congratulations to Pimdao and Alfie from our STA Swim Academy for representing the Thailand Junior National Swim Team at the 46th SEA Aquatics Age Group Championships 2024! Competing alongside Southeast Asia’s best, these incredible swimmers showcased their talent, dedication, and hard work.
