On October 10th, our Student Council (STUCO) Leaders in Secondary took the lead in commemorating World Mental Health Day at Nord Anglia International School Cambodia (NISC). This student-led initiative aimed to raise awareness, foster empathy, and break the stigma surrounding mental health—an issue that affects communities globally.

Throughout the week, students engaged in a series of impactful activities designed to promote mental well-being and encourage open dialogue. A dedicated assembly set the tone, emphasizing the importance of understanding mental health and recognizing its role in overall wellness. In International Life Skills (ILS) classes, students explored topics such as emotional resilience, the significance of World Mental Health Day, and how to seek support when needed. These sessions provided practical tools and created safe spaces for meaningful conversations.

To visually show solidarity, NISC hosted a Wear GREEN” Day, where students and staff wore green—the international colour for mental health awareness, symbolizing hope, strength, and support.

Mental health continues to be a global challenge, often misunderstood due to lingering stigma. At NISC, we believe in the power of student leadership to drive change. By empowering our learners to lead initiatives like this, we reinforce our commitment to creating a supportive, inclusive, and compassionate school environment.

As part of the Nord Anglia Education family, we are proud to nurture global citizens who understand the importance of mental health and advocate for well-being in their communities.

Let’s continue to prioritise mental health—not just on October 10th, but every day.
