Following the recent article on AI, in which our Principal shared her thoughts on the technology’s impact in schools, the INSIGHTS team has delved further into some of the challenges and concerns that parents and academic staff now have over AI use by students across the world.

The new lunar year has already begun, and hopefully it follows a relaxing and enjoyable break for all of you, whether you stayed in China or travelled elsewhere.

In the last couple of days – and following the November Drama and Dance visits - we’ve had the pleasure of hosting Brian Drye, the Music Curriculum Specialist from The Juilliard School, one of Broadway's standout trombonists!

A huge shoutout to NAIS Pudong's victorious Basketball team! They marched to glory in the SISAC Boys championships in Suzhou last Saturday – a phenomenal achievement! Despite being a smaller school, NAIS Pudong boasts powerhouse sportsmen and women who can perform at the highest level not only as individuals but as excellent teams too. We believe in unlocking every student's potential and honing their unique talents, continually building confidence.

In late 2023, several NAIS Pudong students embarked on the trip of a lifetime to Les Martinets, Switzerland for a winter trekking project, and this month another group of lucky staff and children undertook the same journey to Europe for a skiing experience in the mountains.

Following the hugely successful visits of our Juilliard Drama and Dance specialists to NAIS Pudong in November 2023, we’re extremely excited for this week’s visit by our Juilliard Music curriculum specialist, Brian Drye.  Brian has been part of The Juilliard School for many years and brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and insight to our community.

Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming two accomplished alumni back to our school – Joung J., a 2022 graduate, and Sarthak Bodhale, a 2021 graduate.

English as an Additional Language (EAL) is an essential programme offered in schools across the world. At NAIS Pudong, we present a customised EAL programme that aims to meet the needs of the individual.

Leading international schools organisation Nord Anglia Education published its latest digital learning figures for 2023 (January to November), showing usage has grown significantly across both its online platforms — Global Campus and Nord Anglia University. 

Last Friday, we gathered together to witness the efforts and achievements of the entire term. This marks the first time in the past three years that we have been able to follow a complete schedule of various activities, including residential trips, sports competitions, enrichment weeks, and full parental involvement in school events. The theme for this term is linked to one of our core value of developing considerate students.

Leading international schools group Nord Anglia Education today announced a new round of social impact grants amounting to US$304,000, with 24 new student-led projects receiving funding this year.

I’m Katya, a Year 12 student at the British International School of Chicago, South Loop where I’ve attended since Year 4. Last month, I was lucky enough to participate in a week-long event at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, made possible thanks to the collaboration Nord Anglia Education has.

Last week, our Y8 students had a transformative experience on a field trip to the Lenovo Shanghai Future Center, delving into cutting-edge technology like autonomous vehicles and VR. Simultaneously, a group explored FedEx in Shanghai, marveling at the intricate mail sorting system and engaging in flight simulation. Meanwhile, Year 10, 11, and 12 students excelled in the Global Campus Debate Competitions, triumphing in the first round against the British International School Guangzhou. These diverse experiences highlight our commitment to holistic education, fostering curiosity, and nurturing essential skills beyond traditional classrooms.

As the festive spirit envelops the school, the anticipation of the Christmas season is palpable! Late November marked a delightful celebration at NAIS Pudong, where the Early Years and Year 1 students took centre stage to showcase their endearing Christmas Jukebox performance. The performing arts centre was brimming with with joy as these young talents, with their innocent voices and adorable dance moves, captivated the audience. Laughter echoed through the hall, especially during the charming 'Dad-calling' moments that added an extra layer of warmth to the event.
