"What did the students say about their Euclidean geometry test? It was easy as pi!"
Last Friday, the Mathematics Department celebrated our favourite day of the year - Pi Day! We enjoyed a variety of activities to mark the occasion.
We kicked off with a thrilling "Beat the Teacher" mental Maths competition during Thursday's lunch break. Students bravely took on our Maths teachers in rapid mental Maths challenges organised by Ellie (Year 9). The teachers emerged victorious with a score of 4 rounds to 1. A special mention goes to Arthur (Year 12), whose speed even too quick for Mr. Marling.
On Pi Day itself, students enthusiastically participated in Pi-themed challenges during their lessons and gathered together at break time to play the Countdown numbers game.
The day culminated in our annual Pi Recital, a fiercely competitive event that tested students' memory under pressure. Congratulations to our podium finishers for their remarkable achievements:
