On Saturday 13th March, 12 of our Year 10 and Year 11 students competed in the challenging annual ISMTF (International Schools Maths Teacher Foundation) Junior Maths Competition.

The NCSS Challenge is a programming competition open to all school students and teachers. The Grok Learning website team, based in Australia, have been running coding competitions like the challenge for over 12 years.

This year we are running a really special summer camp at BISB. In collaboration with the British Theater School in Manchester, we are offering a Summer Drama Camp led by native English speakers and British actors.

The eco-committee invites our BISB families to participate in the first eco-challenge. Please see the poster for more details, join us in cleaning forests around Bratislava and share your picture in action with us.

The Canadian Computing Competition (CCC) is a fun but also a difficult challenge for secondary school students with an interest in programming. It is an opportunity for students to test their ability in designing, understanding, and implementing algorithms.

Students in Year 8 are being ambitious in their use of Minecraft in History this month to extend their understanding of the Slavery and Abolition topic they have been studying.

This year's Global Campus Comic Book Competition focused on students using their creativity, imagination and innovation in inventing solutions to combat climate change.

As the first MIT-STEAM Challenge of the year lifted off, the prospect of being virtual did not affect our students. Thanks to their ingenuity and Minecraft Education, they were able to create new objects/processes to allow life in space to continue as normal (as normal as you can be in low gravity) for those participating in sport, art or preparing food.

Holy Roman Emperor, Charles V is reputed to have said, “I speak in Latin to God, Italian to Women, French to Men, and German to my Horse.“ We can question his attitudes to gender politics and equine husbandry, but there’s no doubt Charles V was a successful language learner, as at home in the salons of Siena as in the stables of Schleswig-Holstein.

How lovely to have the students back in school! The corridors are buzzling, everywhere you can hear laugh and chit chat. In our last Year 7 German lesson we’ve tried to catch a bit of the Christmas spirit in our lesson by learning new things about Christmas and German Christmas vocabulary.

Our school is hosting College Entrance Exams - SAT on Saturday 19th December 2020.

During the International Day the children in Nursery B were learning about different countries while traveling around the world using the giant atlas.

Year 5 are embracing Hip-Hop Dance as part of their Juilliard Dance Curriculum this year.

Our students achieve more than they may have thought possible. We believe there is no limit to what students can achieve socially, personally and academically. This year, our students’ academic results reflect our shared commitment to excellence.

The Rube Goldberg challenge started on 4th May and ended on 18th May. It was a STEAM project for the whole school including Primary and Secondary students.

The results are in and we are so proud of all of our highly talented students at BISB who took part in this truly Global music competition.

In these days of inclusive education, we are all teachers of learners with learning difficulties. Across the NAE family of schools we all work hard to support these students with SEN to make good progress, and technology means that we can even make it possible for children and young people with significant difficulties to have full access to the curriculum. However, not everyone feels as confident with this area of their teaching as they would like to so. The SEN Community in Nord Anglia University is a great way for all SEN and Learning Support teachers to share information and resources and ask questions.

Ohnisko koronavírusu COVID-19 ovplyvnila ľudí rôznymi spôsobmi v medzinárodnom meradle. Je pochopiteľné, že v časoch, ako je tento, ľudia môžu mať pocit strachu, úzkosti a byť ohromený neustále sa meniacimi varovaniami a mediálnymi správami, pokiaľ ide o šírenie vírusu.
