Learning a language at BIS Hanoi goes beyond memorising words and basic grammar rules. Understanding the culture of the language that our students are learning has become our new teaching goal in the MFL department. Culture knowledge is not only providing the context that is allowing our students to give the right meaning to each new word, it has given a way to understand values, beliefs and customs around the world, without leaving Hanoi!

In an ever changing, digital world, it’s more important than ever to keep up to date with emerging technology. With this in mind, the Computer Science department is constantly reviewing and updating their curriculum from KS3 through to IB to ensure that our students are equipped with the necessary skills for life beyond school.

At BIS Primary, we value the importance of assessing and reporting on children’s progress in all areas of their development throughout the year. Following on from our initial Parent Teacher Meetings earlier this term where we shared the assessment data and targets from our INCAS assessments, we are now in the final stages of preparing our end of term reports for parents.

It's important to know exactly what to look for when choosing an international school for your child. A truly great school is a combination of factors including but not limited to its teachers, learning environments, opportunities for personal development, and the academic outcomes and university destinations for students.

As a parent, it can be difficult to know how to best support your child in a changing, digital world which didn’t exist 10 years ago. The most important thing that you can do is be aware of what your child is using their device for, who are they friends with and what apps or websites they are using.

It has been a very busy term in the Art department with students working on various topics, projects and ECAs.

The start of this academic year has been a busy one in the Performing Arts department, with Dance, Drama, Theatre Studies and Music lessons being delivered to students across our entire age range; from Foundation Stage Music through to Year 13 IB Theatre Studies.
